Our Q & A with Elizabeth
What made you want to join EWPBF?
Their mission is to empower women to succeed and lead. One of the ways they do this is by supporting women who are seeking higher education through their scholarship program.
How has EWPBF helped your career so far?
They have assisted me in creating stronger connections with other women leaders who inspire and support me.
How has EWPBF helped your personal connections with other professional women so far?
Stronger professional connections are also a personal benefit; the longer I’m in the organization, the more personal my professional relationships will become.
What is your proudest moment since joining EWPBF?
Listening to one of the scholarship recipients tell her story at an EWPBF event. She is a single mom, and the scholarship helped to further her career and support her family
What has been your most challenging moment since joining EWPBF?
Having to prioritize events and choose the ones that are most relative to me can be challenging as there are so many great offerings. Although the mission and goals of EWPBF align clearly with my own, as a newer member, I’m waiting to get a bigger picture of how my personal strengths can best serve the organization before jumping into a leadership role.
Is there anything else you’d like readers to know about why EWPBF is important to you?
I’ve been involved with EWPBF for many years because a co-worker was a member, and I came to several events with her. So, I’d like to encourage all women to come to events when you are invited and see what we do. EWPBF makes you feel welcome even if you are not a natural at networking. It’s a great organization to help you build those skills for professional connections.
