Our Q & A with Vanessa

There is something so powerful about sitting in a room full of women. I’ve often shared in conversations with my close friends that magic happens when women bond. A tribe of women can foster intimate sharing and understanding, and inspire growth, by uplifting, empowering, and nurturing one another in a way that isn’t found elsewhere. I imagine that EWPB’s tribe is bonded by the shared experience of womanhood, but the added layer of leadership and professionalism takes this group to the next level as a place of supportive growth for members. I am still young in my career and am eager to be mentored and nurtured by women who have accomplished much more than me – I’m ready to learn!

Since I’m so new and haven’t done much with the organization yet, is it okay if I answer, “What have you learned from EWPB so far?”In my involvement so far, I’ve learned that good leadership requires a certain level of vulnerability, transparency, and honesty about your faults and flaws with your colleagues. I’ve really enjoyed listening to executive women with impressive backgrounds share openly about their journeys, the mistakes they’ve made, and their valuable lessons learned.

It has been wonderful to see many familiar faces in this organization. I look forward to deepening my connections with those I know and meeting many new professionals with diverse experiences that I can learn from. I hope to not only grow professionally, but to create lasting friendships as well!
